For range qualification:
DO NOT BRING FIREARM TO CLASSROOM TRAINING ON THURSDAY! Range qualification will be scheduled TBD at range.
All attending will need to bring their firearm (if available) and a photo ID. Minimum .22 caliber or larger handgun with 50 rounds of ammunition are required but must be left unloaded in the trunk of your vehicle until arriving at the shooting range. After completion of the Texas LTC Course and passing the proficiency test, participants may complete application process through the Texas DPS for a License to Carry in Texas. Firearm rental & ammunition are available but not included.
Please bring eye and ear protection (prescription and sunglasses are fine) for range qualification. Bring pen/paper, driver’s license or state ID.
You can get a head start on the application process by visiting the DPS website as follows:
• Visit the DPS Handgun Licensing website and select "Online Services – apply, renew, application status or changes" https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/
• Complete and submit the LTC web application
• Submit the application fee ($40)
• Schedule electronic fingerprints with Identogo
• After you've completed the LTC course, upload proof of LTC course completion (LTC-100) and any supplemental documents on DPS website.
